The Paramedic Chiefs of Canada (PCC) Leadership Development Committee (LDC) is excited to release the latest tool in support of the PCC Leadership Competency Framework – The PCC Leadership Competency Self-Assessment.
Integrated into the new PCC LDC Leadership Development Education site, leaders can now log in and complete a leadership competency self-assessment. From this, you and your organizations can start to create individual and team learning plans to grow and refine leadership competence.
With the knowledge that competencies refer to the application and consistent demonstration of behaviours associated with a set of concepts, knowledge, and skills, this new assessment tool walks individuals through a series of reflective questions pertaining to 3 Pillars within the Framework – Self-Attributes, Leading Others, and Innovation. This tool was designed to aid in the development of self-awareness, as simply reading the Leadership Framework is not sufficient to make an individual a competent leader. The PCC Leadership Competency Framework is intended to form the foundation for a set of leadership tools which will help support, inform, and develop leadership skills.
Through the evaluation you and your teams can define what competencies are most important to you in your present work and focus on them. The time required to complete the Self-Assessment Tool and review results varies by individual. It may take up to 30 minutes to complete the assessment; however, it may be completed in more than one sitting. Upon completion, you will be able to view and print your personal results. Then you can use the results to design your personal plan and take action.
We encourage everyone to visit this new site and create a profile. It is important to create a profile as your information can only be saved for future work if you are logged in. Should you have any question please do not hesitate to email leadership[at]paramedicchiefs[dot]ca
