Fellow members of the PCC
We know that feeling safe at work is one of the cornerstones of psychological health and safety and the detrimental impact external violence has against our employees is of great concern. We, and I know you, want our people to feel safer and more protected and to know that we, as management, have their backs.
Over the past two years our Service has been addressing violence against our paramedics which has been strongly supported by our elected officials. Multiple Paramedic Services from across Canada and Ontario have been inquiring in what we have been doing and if we could provide some of the tools, as they to want to protect their staff.
I am pleased to share with you in the attached pdf document the External Violence Against Paramedics (EVAP) program now in place at Peel Regional Paramedic Services.
I strongly encourage all of you to read this newsletter, and to follow the links imbedded in the document which will lead to more detailed information.
There is a lot we can do to help improve the lives of our paramedics.
Peter
Stay safe, stay well, stay apart
