Darcy was born and raised in Souris, Prince Edward Island.
Darcy graduated from Paramedicine Level 1 at Holland College in Charlottetown in January 1999, Intermediate Care Paramedic program in 2002 and Advanced Care Paramedic program at Holland College in 2004. Darcy started as a paramedic with Kings County EMS and remained full time until Island EMS started in 2006. He practiced as a full time ACP until he left the field to become a full time Learning Manager with the Paramedicine Department at Holland College in 2010, where he completed his certificate in Adult Education. He returned to Island EMS as the new Support Services Manager in 2011. In 2014 Darcy became the Acting General Manager and transitioned into the role permanently in 2015.
As the Support Services Manager some of Darcy’s roles were to maintain fleet services, medical policies/protocols, CEVO training, equipment standards, inservice training etc. Darcy is proud and privileged to have great support from his Operations Managers, Senior Operation Paramedics & Field Paramedics with Island EMS.
