By now you are likely aware of the tragic events that occurred on April 6, 2018, claiming the lives of 16 people, including 10 young hockey players, and 6 coaches and staff of the Humboldt Broncos Hockey team from Humboldt, Saskatchewan, Canada.
What you may not be aware of is the close proximity of Crestline to Humboldt, both physically and psychologically.
Lying an just an hour from Crestline’s Manufacturing site in Saskatoon, Humboldt is well within reach for aspiring young NHL hopefuls. Given the proximity, it is impossible for the Crestline family not to be directly affected by the tragedy – with nearly every staff member either knowing someone affected or involved in the heroic response efforts.
With 10 players still in the hospital, at least two in critical condition, several paralyzed, and others’ conditions still unknown, one can only imagine the burden of expenses surrounding recovery, both physically and mentally for these young individuals. As the families directly affected are either busy planning their children’s funerals and/or sitting bedside in the local Saskatoon hospital, praying their loved one wins the fight of their life, our Nation and Neighbors to the South are asking the obvious – please click here for more info, to download formal request (PDF) and find out how you can help.
